WADA Guidelines For The Use Of HGH Supplements By Athletes

Human Growth hormone or HGH supplements have become very popular off late because they help athletes to augment their stamina and perform better in the fields.

However, one cannot use HGH hormone supplements as such because it is illegal and the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) has laid down strict guidelines for the use of HGH supplements in athletics.

  1. HGH supplements act as anabolic steroids and they have an ergogenic impact on human body. WADA started conducting HGH supplement tests since the Athens Olympics in 2004. The urine and blood tests are conducted to detect the presence of HGH supplement in body.
  2. WADA also emphasizes on educating coaches and athletes on the use of HGH Supplements. One cannot use these drugs because they are not only against the rules of game but they also have fatal side effects on human body like enlargement of kidneys and heart disorders.
  3. In place of HGH supplements, the athletes can use research-based protein supplements that are approved by the law and does not help the athletes out of the way.

Reported cases of use of HGH supplements in athletics

Although not many athletes have been found using the HGH supplements in any major sports event so far, barring few examples.  However, WADA still believes that coaches and athletes are making use of these drugs to cheat on the spirit of the game.

Prevention is better than a bad name!

In the coming London Olympics, a strong test mechanism will be implemented that can read the abnormal HGH quantity from the human blood and urine.

Athletes better be cautious about it because it is not every day you reach Olympics representing your nation and if you are found using an illegal drug, that will not only end your career but also bring shame to your country.

Human Growth Hormone Therapy is very popular for growth of muscles and bones.

Human Growth Hormone (HGH) acts as a growth stimulant in human beings. The pituitary gland of humans produces HGH and it stimulates generation of new and healthy body cells. However, the advancement in medical science has made it possible to externally supply HGH to human body to reinstate growth of healthy cells. The body stops producing HGH after a particular age so that there is proper balance between growth and age, otherwise humans being will keep growing until they die. Aging is one of the universal truths of life.

Externally injecting HGH in excess often leads to uncontrolled growth of certain body parts. Major HGH side effects are enlargement of kidneys, swelling near the heart and muscular stiffness.

As it is said, greed is a curse and if you want to look younger overnight by injecting excessive HGH into your body, you will definitely feel the heat. Other HGH side effects are allergy, sore throat and skin rashes.
